After a hearty breakfast on Day 2 of vacation, F&O took a walking tour of their campground.   They played a game of ping pong sorta (ask Ollie about that), found the self-serve ice-cream machine which was not open at that hour of the morning, and strolled along the river.    Flynn and Ollie will most assuredly be staying at Casey’s Riverside RV Resort again.

They packed up and hit the road through Klamath Falls, where they made a stop at the WallyWorld RV park for a few supplies and to have lunch.  Jones was not happy with this stop, as the big truck traffic and other cat-trauma disrupted his usual nap-time routine.     Speaking of Klamath Falls, Flynn had remembered it from previous trips as being a nice place.   Mind changed.  Dunno if it was the route they took or the abundance of sketchy customers in WallyWorld – the general feel of KF was icky.    Cross it off the list.

The rest of the drive to CA was uneventful, other than Google routing the crew down Hackamore Lookout Rd, which sounded sketchy for a 30 ft RV, but turned out to be a great scenic drive.  For the touring types, it should be noted that Modoc Co takes much better care of its roads than Lassen Co does.   Flynn and Ollie pulled into the Lassen RV Resort well ahead of closing time.    The campground is very well kept, full of oak trees, spacious sites, and staff is friendly.    It is a very pretty place, and almost the opposite terrain from Casey’s.   Oh yeah ~it’s not anywhere near Mount Lassen – it is in Lassen County though.

The red road/rock is from the volcano rock around the area. Neato.

Flynn and Ollie would have loved to post the trip report on time, however, the one and only downfall of the Lassen RV park is the iffy wifi and cell service.    Mutter mutter mutter.

Which brings us to the evening drama ~ all Jones related. Ollie re-checked the reservations for the next stop, which WAS to be 5 nights on the shores of Lake Tahoe at Camp Richardson.   Splashed all over the page was notices that they do not take pets of any type, subject to eviction and high fees if caught.   Now, this is just plain stupid when taking into consideration an indoor cat, which has no impact on anything resort related – no poop, no property destruction, no noise.  F*&^!     Ollie spent the evening attempting to scour the internet (s l o w) for a new place to stay at the very last minute during the height of RV travel time.    He got the last spot at a different campground 10 minutes from the lake at an exorbitant price, which is booked at this time.    This may change as we await a callback or two… meantime, stay tuned.
