F&O had this day without travel, and therefore were free to explore the RV resort at a leisurely pace.   If one is honest about privae RV parks, many are the same:   pools, horseshoes, maybe a tetherball or volleyball court, a dog walking area.    This RV park is not the same.   It has all of the basics listed above and more, along with walking trails and points of interest hidden all over the 68 acres.  The owners love art and have been creative with their plans for the resort.   Little touches adorn the trails, the signage, and the facility in general.     It’s chill, but not rustic.    To walk the entire property with all the trails and points of interest takes a couple of hours.  F&O did this in the morning.

The afternoon, the bird and otter went in search of a coffee roaster.   Ha!   No such critter within 30 miles.   The town of McArthur is teeny, to say the least, and Flynn would have been laughed out of the local mercantile had he bothered to inquire about gourmet coffee beans. Burney seemed the best option, but alas, no roasters there.   The did, however, have a shake shop for Ollie and a real coffee stand for Flynn.    Did we mention the town was also on fire?  F&O spent some time getting pics of the CalFire planes and fire trucks and watching the helicopter drop water.   Ash was dropping on F&O as they enjoyed their beverages.  Question:  Is a milkshake a beverage?

Burney fire
Fire truck, obviously

The evening was spent attempting to get the slow wifi to confirm our plans for the following 5 days.  Mission complete. Flynn took 2of 3 cribbage games after dinner outside in the perfect weather and ambiance.   When dusk hit, F&O made their way back down the Cedar Trail, which has several trees lit with various colored lights.   Why not?   Tromping around in snake and bear country at night is always fun!

Sunday is travel day to Lake Tahoe! (Not to Camp Richardson though as they don’t like cats.) By the way, we assume Burney survived.  Cal Fire has their *&^% together.
