Here at the F&O Chronicle we are as excited as most recreational players about the 50th anniversary 2019 WSOP. We have friends that will be dabbling in the lower limit events (nope, we do not travel in the nosebleed circles) and F&O will be hitting cash games like mad. Rail-birding celebs and the other cast of WSOP characters (Uncle Ron, commentators, the WSOP hot dog cart, the vendors) is on the agenda, as usual, because Flynn likes his pix taken with everyone.
Speaking of which, F&O attempted to get a piece of DNegs and were shut-out. Zero for 3. If stuffed flamingos could pout, Flynn would. What DNegs has done is something fabulous for poker: gotten the dabbling-hobbyist actively involved. Guaranteed to keep those with a piece interested, and those who missed out (pout) interested in seeing what they missed out on for a REASONABLE cost. Less than reasonable ~ dirt cheap. For FUN. FUN is the name of this game, and if you had a piece of DNegs for a measly 5 bucks, you would have FUN “at” the WSOP through the whole series. Whether you were there or not. Whether you follow Mathers, DNegs vlogs, PokerNews, WSOP or your favorite blog/vlogger updates from afar, or stand in the Rio convention center as it is happening, having a horse in the race for the price of a cup of coffee is epic.
I cannot imagine the personal $ cost for Daniel. Despite the fact that he is plenty rich and can afford the price of setting up this whole production, and despite the fact that he has already gotten plenty of accolades for taking this on, F&O would still like to shout him out for making poker FUN again for the recreational players on a budget. Sorry, PH, but your 1.7 markup or whatever it was, along with high minimums pieces that most pros require is absurd. BTW, we have met PH, and he is a nice, nice man. No dis there.
We beg the person behind the curtain, working frantically for DNegs, to keep the software functional & somehow make it available to other pros to utilize. Semi-pros and amateurs could have at it to sell small amounts for no mark-up for FUN. StakeKings, etc are too heavy on fees, cumbersome to use, and generally a pain for low-ballers like F&O. I really want a piece of Allen Kessler, yet… But, we digress, and this is not our business. This is Daniel’s business. He makes poker FUN for the rest of us. Smart move, Kid.
We will see you in a week or so, at the 2019 50th anniversary of the WSOP. F&O wish everyone to have a FUN time, regardless of your budget. After all, it is a game. To most of us.
