F&O did not stray far from the villa the past two days. Part of being on holiday is relaxing, having no agenda and no alarm clock. Instead, the fur and feathers opted to hang close and enjoy the local culture.

Part of hanging about includes chow. For those of you following Ejacks on twitter, the UPWC is pretty much wrapped up, with the most recent candidates (sort of) pictured above. The place on the left is not in contention for a win, however, Ollie would like to commend it for having a truly local beer available (made in Sorento), rather than brewskies made in Naples. The place on the right has made the top 3 cut, so congratulations to Pizzaria Donna Stella for it’s stellar reputation.

Flynn and Ollie were left at home while the editors of this chronicle went out for a fancy meal at Da Ciccio Cielo Mare E Terra. They watched TV, but didn’t understand a word, played some cards (Flynn cheated), and pouted heavily when no leftovers were brought home to them. FWIW, the ristorante is highly rated, highly recommended, and 100% worth a visit.

After 10 days here, and having gone into the town of Amalfi numerous times, Flynn and Ollie finally found the time to sprint up the church steps.

A stroll about the town of Atrani, specifically the beach level, had F & O playing hide and seek. These coastal Italians are so very creative when it comes to making space on the side of cliffs. A restaurant in a stone wall. Why not? Need to store your fishing materials? Carve out a cave.

Finally, lest you think Flynn has been slacking, he found a casino. Much to his chagrin, it was padlocked up tight. Ollie is pretty sure these places are not legal, or likely have some odd-ball legalalityeeze. On the way back, Frlynn tried to board the Russian spy boat. They wouldn’t let him on. Instead, he had a cool refreshing drink from the pool which is up the road, but down the cliff….which is where everything is on the Amalfi coast.

That’s about it. F & O are going on a hike tomorrow. Probably going on a hike. Maybe. If they get up in time. And, if they feel like it. Don’t hold your breath, though.

  1. Sounds like a blast. Italy wasn’t even on my radar as a “go to” destination. You’ve now moved it to my bucket list. Thanks friends!
