Thursday,14th. This was a packed-full day for Flynn & Ollie. The first stop was to service Angry Bird, the transportation choice for F&O this trip. While they were waiting, Flynn penned and published the Day 4 blog. It’s amazing what one can get done in unusual places. Mission completed, the Bird ready to rock, F&O headed out to the Red Rock National Conservation Area which is one of their favorite places in the country (Canyonlands, UT being another).
A stop at the gift shop & visitors center is mandatory. The shop is well stocked, although they had no masks as has been par for the course this trip. Flynn got postcards for family and Brisco, and a few small other items. While at the center, the boys had a photo op with Mojave Max, and played with the gila and tortoise. There is a fabulous display here, and if one has transportation while in LV, you should really check it out. (They require reservations right now.)
Off to the 13 mile scenic drive loop and a very short hike/walk on one of the many trails available along the way. The weather was perfect, and the fresh air was sorely needed.
Hike and drive complete, the critters headed over to Red Rock Resort Casino & Spa – aka , another poker room. Here they sat down a newly formed 2/5 table, and played for several hours. The first two hours it was a must move, however it turned into a normal table before Flynn or Ollie got moved (whew). The table was fine, the cards not so good for Flynn, and Ollie booked a small win. None of the players were sent from central casting, and most of the time was spent watching the despised Brady throw the point spread to give the Eagles the spread ‘win’. Flynn had the Eagles, so thanks Tampa Bay for running it out.
Tired of lackluster cards, the losses, and knowing the ‘tude is everything in poker, F&O headed off to Nittaya’s Secret Kitchen for some dinner. As is their norm, they slid in about 15 minutes before the kitchen closed and noshed on some good food and enjoyed the live piano music & ambiance. BTW, 1-spicy is really a 2 or 3 in the rest of the world.
Day was done.
