Disclaimer: This is 100% a personal view by Flynn, who is a fictional character.
No need to post address, etc, since the reader can Google or Bravo this room in Auburn, WA. It is an Indian casino, so it has slots too.
Flynn & Ollie have been frequenting this room for many years. Dealers, floor, chip runners, f & b servers are decent and competent. It’s well run, they have tableside food service, and up to date equipment, open 24 hours. It has 4/8 lhe , along with 3/6 , O8 4/8 , 3 /5 spread limit. It also runs higher limits (5/10?? ++) which give Flynn heart palpatatons cause the $ on the tables at those could pay off the mortgage. Anyway, much to our fuzzy happiness, they have also been opening 1/3 spread limit as interest deems necessary. The population base around this area is large enough to keep games going through the brunt of the day. Weekdays it’s regulars, weekends the unsuspecting visitors stumble in to throw their $ down.
Bird-brain observations says the high $ games include some consortium involvement. Meh, not our problem. The 1/3 nl & 4/8 lhe are standard fare. The 3/6 lhe is strictly luck oriented. Ollie says O8 is a bunch of cranky folk, also the norm.
1st bitch:. The room has moved to temporary quarters, which is a cool looking previous club stage in the middle of the main casino. Looks classy! It is 3 tiered, kinda dark, has moody decor. Nearly round, it has a bar and a small entrance, but otherwise has walls all around it. But…. no smoke ventilation from the casino. High ceilings help, however, not good enough if you are bothered by such things.
2nd bitch: no cage. Nope, gotta walk up and out to cash out. And SO DO the chip runners. Not holding my breath for that to be remedied, but I guess it could be if the staff and customers complain loud enough. Be prepared for a wait. Not user friendly. Not employee friendly.
1st whine: 10 min high hand payouts. All the time, or most of the time. Flynn does not even want to know what the jackpot drop is for that, too scared to ask. Flynn does know how it makes competitors play, chasing everything. The payout varies on # of tables going. Not going to lie, hitting those once or twice has put this bird into the positive $ cashout category though.
2nd whine: dealers that don’t know when to hold their tongue. Flynn realizes he is a memorable character, but commenting on moving up or down in stakes, changing games, or the good or bad luck from last session, is an image killer. Stop giving competitors info about how Flynn plays. Make convo about the weather or sports. Your tips depend on it. Thanks.
The Muck is in the F&O regular rotation of poker rooms, but frankly the new digs will probably reduce visits there. Staff complaints about their current location & conditions, smoke, and cage inconvenience are all factors. Their club card does nothing to entice us to visit more often, so, yeah. It’s okay, but not great. We will be back. Someday. Or if @AuntyChardonnay invites me for a meet up.
