Off to make their fortunes, Flynn and Ollie set off in their covered wagon being pulled by the many faithful horses, all named Karl. Leaving the homestead was bittersweet; the draw of the unknown and new adventures outweighing the appeal of picking onions.
They crossed Donner Pass without eating the cat. They crossed the high dry lakes of Bonanza Nevada country without dying of thirst. They crossed the great salt flats without getting high blood pressure. They trudged in elevations over 7K ft in Utah without getting altitude sickness. They survived the winds of Wyoming without getting crushed by giant tumbleweeds.
Wearily they finally staggered into the chosen country: Custer State Park, So Dak. Here they admired the land of turkeys, deer, sheep, and more deer. And more turkeys and more deer. Truly the promised land. They promised buffalo, but they lied. There are no buffalo.
There are, however, bison aplenty.
The End.
Flynn
